About Dr. Lavanier...

Dr. Lavanier is a passionate advocate for women’s mental wellness, helping them find purpose and wholeness. A Cincinnati native, she’s a wife and mom of three uniquely incredible humans. She thrives when surrounded by “her people", exploring nature, and traveling—whether hiking mountain trails or relaxing for hours on a beach. She loves library books, good coffee, dancing, and long walks with her puppy. She’s deeply curious about people and their stories and feels inspired when surrounded by women committed to growing beyond the surface.

Professional History

Dr. Lavanier brings over 20 years of clinical and leadership experience in the mental health field, including time practicing at Cincinnati Children’s, the Lindner Center of HOPE, and Galia Collaborative. At CCHMC, her time was spent focused on adolescent depression, suicidality, social anxiety, and mood disorder research. She then spent over twelve years at LCOH, where she led the eating disorders team across multiple levels of care and contributed to the women’s mental health, OCD/anxiety, and DBT/RO‑DBT teams. Most recently, she provided therapeutic services at Galia Collaborative as an eating disorders specialist and a women’s mental health and trauma-informed clinician.  She also led outreach efforts as the Community Connections Director.

Across her career, Dr. Lavanier has developed deep expertise and leadership in evidence‑based care. She is trained in a wide range of treatment modalities including CBT, ERP, DBT, RO‑DBT, FBT, EMDR, and IFS, allowing her to tailor treatment to each client’s needs and capacity. She is warm, intuitive, client‑centered, and a steadfast cheerleader for those she supports, meeting clients exactly where they are to help them move forward.

My Truths Within

  • Sometimes we just need to Be Still to move forward. The wisdom is often there Within us.

  • Women need other women.  The whole village thing is real and necessary.

  • There is always more to someone’s story.  Always!  So check your judgments at the door.

  • All bodies are good bodies.  All food fits.  Balance and variety is where life happens!

  • Connection over Perfection!  People are attracted to humanness and vulnerability, not the perfect look or perfect life.

  • We were not made to be someone else.  Use the gifts YOU were given to make YOUR impact on the world.

  • Patterns will always repeat themselves until we really do the intentional work to make a change.

  • Letting go and acknowledging our own limits of control often leads to the peace and freedom we are longing for.
